Week of April 30

I sent home another permission slip with the kids Monday. We have a field trip, next Monday, May 7th. We are going to the Annett Nature Center. Please try to have it back before Friday!

This is our last week of our reading program. Can you believe it! Your child should be able to read ALL words from the list now! WOW! This weeks' high frequency words are: answered, brothers, carry, different, and poor. In phonics we will learn about prefixes un- and re- and long vowels i and o (with no bossy e at end).

In math we will be continuing with fraction work.

Our chicks have hatched!! We got five cute little chicks and have really enjoyed them this week! (see pictures below)

This coming week our high frequency words are built, early, learn, science, and through. Our phonics skills are the vowel sound of aw/au and short e:ea.

In math, we are finally starting unit 9! We have been distracted this week with those chicks! We will be working with our number grid (hundreds chart) to find patterns, do puzzles, and make rules.

Our field trip is on Thursday to City State Bank. Banana Buck Sale and Popcorn Day is on Friday.

It's a busy, but fun week!
