Week of April 2

Happy April!

We have 30 chick eggs in our room and are hoping to see them hatch in approximately 18 days! The kids are so excited and are loving to play "mother hen" and turn the eggs three times a day. :)

April is also National Poetry Month so we will be reading lots of poems and our author of the month is Shel Silverstein.

This week in reading the phonics skills are the ou sound as in loud. We will also work on syllables. The high frequency words are door, loved, should, and wood. We are going to work on exclamation points as well.

In math we are working on story problems, making change, and beginning concepts of fractions dealing with equal shares.

Please remember to send back your permission slip to the Des Moines Playhouse that will be on April 12.
